About the Event
We will focus on the "preemption bill," HB 2127, a broad legislative attack on local control which includes our rights as citizens to petition for a public vote and the improvements and lack thereof at the TCEQ (Texas Commission for Environmental Quality). ce
Please note that Bastrop County is experiencing a clash between mass industrial development from Elon Musk and other related companies and hyper-development which includes 32 new developments.! Our local farms are getting squeezed out while our water, especially the Colorado River, is imperiled. (Watch for more news before this meeting.)
This will be an open session where you get to participate, which always makes it more fun and dicy! So, bring your questions.

We are rescheduling with Katya Erhesman from Common Cause Texas. Stay tuned for a session solely focused on election bill madness seen in the last regular session.
CAUTION: The Governor can call a special session and has threatened to keep doing so to get what he wants. The first one, on property taxes, backfired on him. Go to our news section to read our June 1 message.
