When the Fangs Come Out: End of Session May 29

We're all on the edge of our seats, waiting to see what comes out of the sausage grinder, aka the Texas Legislature which ends on May 29. We all know to expect to win a few, but to lose plenty. That is why we're independents. We want Texans to start winning more fundamental reforms in how we conduct politics.

Rather than remain downright afeared, we encourage you to do all you can to make things right and to plan for the future of Texas, including the Texas independent political movement.

In this alert:

  • Take action right away: TCEQ Worthless as Teats on a Boar Hog with SB 471

  • Congratulations to BISD candidates, Priscilla Ruiz, who handily won Place 4, and Joseph Thompson, who came in a strong second against a 9-year incumbent and Board President. Congrats as well to Cheryl Reese who won Elgin ISD's District 2. Bastrop Election Results here.
